Join Captain Omar aboard Morning Spirit, a 34’ Crusader built for serious fishing. As part of one of the original Grand Cayman fishing charters, Captain Omar Goff brings generations of experience to every trip. His deep family roots in Cayman fishing mean you're not just heading out with a skilled guide — you're fishing with a legacy. Whether you're a seasoned angler or looking to step up your game, Morning Spirit is where local knowledge meets offshore action. Built with one purpose — to fish — Morning Spirit isn’t your average boat. With its wide beam, ample fishing area, and fighting chair, it comfortably fits up to six guests ready to reel in the action. This vessel skips the luxuries in favor of function, making it an ideal choice for those who care more about the catch than the cushions. Morning Spirit can troll up to six lines at once, including out-riggers, giving you the best chance to connect with big game. When it comes to deep sea fishing in Grand Cayman, Morning Spirit Charters gives you access to prime offshore spots like the 12-Mile Bank, where you can drift for yellowfin tuna or troll along the island’s famous drop-off known as “the wall.” Looking for something more adventurous? Venture farther to the 60-Mile Bank, Pickle Bank, Little Cayman, or Cayman Brac. Depart the night before and be on the fish at sunrise — a strategy that often fills the fish boxes fast. Wondering what fish are in season in Grand Cayman? Captain Omar keeps a close eye on seasonal runs. Depending on the time of year, you’ll target species like wahoo, mahi-mahi, yellowfin tuna, blackfin tuna, and even billfish. Just let Captain Omar know your fishing goals — he can rig for marlin or swordfish if that’s what you're after. His local expertise means your trip is always planned around the best possible action. A typical half-day charter includes all your fishing essentials — top-quality gear, bait, ice, and even some refreshments like bottled water, soft drinks, and light snacks. Captain Omar makes it easy to focus on the fishing while he handles the rest. With the right crew, the right boat, and decades of know-how, this is offshore fishing done right. For anglers who want more than a sightseeing cruise, Morning Spirit is one of the best private fishing charters in Grand Cayman Whether you're hoping to land your personal best or just fill the cooler, Captain Omar and Morning Spirit Charters are ready to make it happen.

Captain Omar Goff is deeply rooted in Cayman Islands fishing traditions. Raised on Grand Cayman, he comes from a long line of local fishermen who relied on the sea for survival. His grandfather fished for turtles in a very different era, and his father and uncles continued the tradition with rod and reel. Captain Omar grew up immersed in this way of life, learning firsthand how to read the water, understand the seasons, and fish responsibly. It’s more than a profession—it’s a legacy passed down through generations. As a young boy, Omar—also known as “Burgz” by those who know him—learned to fish by watching and working alongside his family. He recalls days spent on the water absorbing every technique, from anchoring over reefs for snapper to trolling for offshore species like wahoo and tuna. Fishing isn’t just something he does—it’s who he is. His experience is more than just years; it’s a lifetime shaped by the tides, the weather, and the traditions of the Cayman Islands. Captain Omar’s style is calm, knowledgeable, and quietly confident. He’s approachable and easy to talk to, whether you're a seasoned angler or new to deep sea fishing. What sets him apart is his ability to adapt each trip to the needs and goals of his guests. He knows where the fish are biting, what bait they’re chasing, and the best times to hit specific areas like the 12-Mile Bank, Pickle Bank, or further afield to Little Cayman and Cayman Brac. With Omar at the helm, you’re not guessing—you’re learning from someone who’s spent his entire life on these waters.
The Boat – Morning Spirit
Morning Spirit is a 34′ Crusader built for one purpose—fishing. With a wide beam and plenty of deck space, it comfortably accommodates up to six anglers. While the boat skips a few modern luxuries, it more than makes up for it with functionality and performance. Outfitted with outriggers, a downrigger, electric reels, and a fighting chair, Morning Spirit is ready to troll six lines at once and chase down big game fish. It’s a serious fishing platform, helmed by someone who knows how to use every inch of it.
